As I expect 100% of my followers to consist of my family, friends, and former coworkers, this blog really bears no introduction; however, just in case anyone is living under a rock out there, here is a basic overview:

After five years in the workforce post-undergrad, I finally decided it was time to consider returning to school and pursing my MBA (Master of Business Administration). This has caused no small amount of joy for my father, as he has increasingly less subtly been hinting that he'd like nothing more than for me to return to academia (not surprising from someone having spent decades there himself!).

This process in and of itself was no small feat. First: present the idea to the parentals (which, as aforementioned, went better than expected). Then came the program research; registration for, studying for, and taking of the GMAT; compiling and submitting my application, complete with transcripts, letters of recommendation, and essays; an admissions interview on Labor Day whilst out of state, via Skype and then international phone call when Skype failed; an offer letter; acceptance of said offer (and financial burden!); subsequent scholarship applications; tendering my notice at work; international funds transfers for tuition payments; submitting immigrations forms; cramming my entire adult life thus far into my childhood bedroom; actually leaving work and saying my goodbyes to my amazing coworkers; mathematics and statistics bootcamp; trying to make time to visit with friends and family in the short two weeks before my departure... and here I am.

Honestly, for as much work as has gone into this process thus far, things can only get more complicated from here. So far only one minor issue has arisen (more on that later), and I've had the support and encouragement of everyone here stateside. How will it get more complicated?

I haven't even started to pack yet...
